Error : EDM name validation failed for value xxxxx
Hi I have created a query service using ABAP development workbench. While executing the service using the entity set name in url, I am getting internal server error along with message "EDM name validation failed for value 'xxxxxx'".
Please help me to find the possible reason.

Hello Deepika,
You mean to say you are using not using Gateway Service Builder correct ?
You are creating MPC and DPC class manually is it ?
Could you please share your model details ? and also the data type details of the structure which you have bind to your model ?

I have used se80 transaction to create data model and consumption model.
I have some 3 input parameters which are of Char type and 1 output table.
I am not using SEGW as i have been told that function module should obey a certain set of rules to be able to create service for through service builder and I believe my function module does not obey those rules.

SAML logon issue
Hello Experts ,
We developed an OData service in SEGW and set the logon procedure as Alternate logon Procedure and SSL , as the User is maintained in Active directory . And this is a HUB system where Gateway and ECC are maintained separately .When we test the service in browser IE, Firefox ... it is prompting for 2 authentications , one is for SAML and another one for Gateway . I am just wondering why we need 2 authentications here as gateway user is a SAML user , Do we need to change any settings in SICF to restrict those authentications .

Odata Issue in Browser
Hello Experts ,
I just want to clarify one thing regarding the Gateway service we developed using a hub approach . As we test our service in Gateway client using standard logon procedure , it is working as expected and showing the result . But when we test the service from Browser IE & Firefox , it is throwing error as “RFC call ended with system failure exception” as shown below. I am just wondering why a service is returning 2 different results . Is there anything related to RFC Destination for http/https which might cause these type of errors ? Do we need to do any other settings in SICF for a service .
Could you please throw some light on this issue .

gate pass- previous day indicator- giving error

Hello Andie,
Its not always necessary to test in gateway client. You can test in rest client / advanced rest client as well.
Please check things which i said last time in rest client / advanced rest client ( refer to May 7, 2014 8:53 AM reply of mine ).

There is no problem to open the following URL directly in browser, but fails when put it in the body using batch as I mentioned above.

Gateway error Communication error, CPIC return code 020, SAP return code 223
We updated the SAP kernel on our test BW system on April 21st
2014.
Since then we are seeing errors/warnings in SM21 log. The errors are
only for the application server.

At this point I am sure that this is something related to gateway but
notable to say why this is happening.
1) We are migrating to new kernel on production next week. I want to

2) I would like eliminate this error from the system as its annoying
to these errors continuously.

Recently i tried the GWPA installation in eclipse junos on window 7 64-bit and it worked. I download Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers, 250 MB from here.
Make sure you have set the Environment variables before installation of Eclipse as mentioned in this document.
Once you are done, Click on Help menu>Install New software>Click on "Add"
Give some name along with "Location" as the URL : SAP Development Tools for Eclipse - Juno Software Repository (check below screenshot)
Press "OK"
Select "SAP NetWeaver Gateway Productivity Accelerator" > Click "Next"
shout if you face any issues.

In my case I am printing via tcode iw3d, and as I see it, is SAP Script.
The print is stored in the spoolfile, but how can I send that to the Gateway?

you can generate xstring from spool. google it and you will get the logic. once you get the xstring, then as mentioned in my blog, do the coding and create OData service.
